Statement on the Sainte-Foy attack

TORONTO, 30 JANUARY 2017, (CBNS)

In response to reports that a gunman opened fire in a mosque in Sainte-Foy, Quebec on Sunday night, killing six people and wounding several others, the following statement was made by Dr. Gerald Filson, Director of Public Affairs for the Baha’i Community of Canada:

“The Baha'i community across the country extends its deep sympathy and assurance of prayers to the victims of this appalling attack in a place of worship. We stand with all those who work to eradicate religious hatred and prejudice in our communities, and to ensure the well-being and security of our fellow Muslim citizens.”
